Happy Saturday! Dustin, Jordan and I are on our way down to the San Diego harbor to spend the day taking pictures of the beautiful ocean, eating great food, enjoying family and — oh yeah — celebrating my birthday! Today, I turn 28 years old. I can tell this is gonna be a good year.
Again, I’d like to thank you all for your votes. We had a total of 111 votes this time. This new total beats our previous highest poll vote total of 83. So cool!
Looks like the voting was pretty evenly distributed this time. The winner: Pan-Seared Scallops. Yum — I’ve been meaning to make this for-ev-er, so thank you for the push! In second, was The Pioneer Woman’s Best Coffee Cake. Ever, which also sounds delicious (and was my vote). In third was Zucchini-Wrapped Pork with Basil Pesto Dipping Sauce. In fourth was the Italian Sausage and Fennel Pizza on Alfredo Sauce (Dustin’s vote). And, finally, in last place were the Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. I hope to get to all of these recipes eventually, but my focus will for sure be on the pan-seared scallops. Guess I need to start scouting out some jumbo scallops on sale!
Thanks again for voting, everyone. I really appreciate your participation, support, input and all that greatness!
As for the Barhyte Specialty Foods giveaway, thank you as well to all of you who entered your comments. I loved reading your responses to which recipe off this blog you liked the most. Very cool.
The winner of the giveaway was Klee with the response: “I loved your mint lemonade post. That ended up being the perfect summer drink around my apartment.”
Congratulations, Klee! You have won a collection of Saucy Mama condiments which includes Chipotle Mustard, Lime Chipotle Marinade, Jalapeno Stuffed Olives, Hot Wing Sauce, Sweet Onion Marinade and Cracked Pepper Marinade.
(In case you were wondering, the winner was chosen by assigning a number to each commenter (not including my responses) and then using a random number generator to pick the lucky number. The generator picked the number 8, which corresponded to Klee’s comment.)
By the way, I thought I’d share some photos of the last time Dustin and I spent a day at the San Diego harbor. It was about 4 years ago — way before Jordan, our move to San Diego or **eek** my Nikon D60. It was the anniversary trip that made Dustin and I really want to move to San Diego. I have never been back to the harbor, but always wanted to return. For my birthday, Dustin surprised me with just that wish. Love him!
Have a great weekend!
