Welcome!

Hi there! My name is Lacey and I am a Sweet Pea Chef. I am also a mother of two adorable little girls, madly in love with and happily married to my high school sweetheart and a recent transplant to Austin, Texas. I hope I can help you find some easy family recipes to enjoy. Read further…

In one of her recent comments on my blog, Jeanne, a fellow blogger and *dare I say* friend of mine who runs the blog, Inside NanaBread’s Head, requested an update on Savannah, our new lil’ bundle of joy.

NanaBread, here you go!

It’s funny, now, to even think of Savannah as a new addition to our family.  It seems like she’s always been around and, if there was a time in our past when she wasn’t there, it would have been so empty.

She just “fits” and completes our little happy family.  Which, if you read this post, makes me extremely happy.

Onto the update…  (And, please pardon the quality of some of the images — several were taken on my iPhone, not my Nikon DSLR).

Savannah will be 5 months old tomorrow (September 18th — which just happens to also be my birthday!) and is one tough lil’ cookie.

She carries the nicknames, “S-Ball,” “Savanns,” “Big Smiles” and “Champ.”  And, of course, “Baby Siss-tuh,” as Jordan lovingly calls her.

Our Savanns weighs about 14 pounds and is all muscle.

While she’s extremely alert, solid and independent, she has the sweetest smile and giggle that just melts your heart.  Every time.

As you can imagine, she’s completely in awe of her big sister and loves it when Jordan plays with her.

She’s quite possibly the most content baby I’ve ever met, which makes my job a lot easier. Look at those cheeks!

She’s just been introduced to rice cereal and, as expected, eats it like a champ and then wants more. And then she smiles about it.

Our Jordan is roughly 2-and-a-half years old now and is becoming quite the little person.

Jordan’s nicknames are “J, “J-Lil” and “Goose.”

Jordan just adores her baby sister and is always volunteering to help take care of her.

It’s pretty amazing how quickly Jordan has picked up so many “kid-like” characteristics and abilities.

She absolutely loves to read and dance — and would probably do those both at the same time if she thought about it.

Her favorite book is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom which she reads or demands to be read to has read to her a good 5-10 times a day.  She’s recently potty-trained and is very excited with her collection of Dora and Tinker Bell “undies.”

Given her love to dance, we are starting her in dance class and we think she’s gonna love it.

It’s simply amazing how quickly both my girls are growing up.  Jordan is using full sentences and making friends at school while Savannah is wiggling her way around the floor and eating solid food.

My girls.

Won’t be long now ’till they’re both giggling in their rooms all by themselves and doing their homework.  Crazy.

Enjoy!
