Weekend Favorites – The Beginning

Hey there! I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite posts from around the food blog world over the past week.

Weekend Favorites: a collection of my favorite food blog posts for the week by Lacey Stevens-Baier, a sweet pea chef

I got the idea from Jen’s “Friday Favorites” at My Kitchen Addiction. Depending on your *cough* feedback *cough* I may share my favorites with you more often. I might even include a theme by which I choose them.  So, if you like (or don’t like) it, please let me know in the comments or by email.

I really recommend you take the time to read the following posts. I spend a lot of time reading blogs, both food and otherwise, and hope this list brings you some of the most special from this past week.

  • I am really loving this post for Coffee Ice Cream from Former Chef who shares in my love for all things ice cream during the summer. Not only is the picture fantastic, but the combination of coffee and ice cream sounds so incredibly refreshing. Yum!

  • Alice from Everyday Alice (who also writes the food blog Savory Sweet Life) wrote a very personal post this week about why she started her blog and her battle with postpartum depression. In her post, she discusses how important it is for her to have the creative outlet her blog provides. Really good post. I recommend reading it.

  • You probably realize my love for pie by now and this post from K Bakes for Blueberry Crumble Pie is no exception. Once I read K’s post, I went out, bought some blueberries and made this pie. Delicious! Stay tuned for my post on this blueberry delight.

  • Hard not to drool over everything Deb at Smitten Kitchen makes, especially this recipe for Everyday Chocolate Cake. Man, that looks delicious! Definitely on my to-make list!

As always, I want to thank you for reading. I welcome your comments, questions, recipe suggestions and food stories. Here’s to doing what you love!

Alice, of course! I really appreciated your honesty in your post. Your words helped remind me how special a blog can be and important it is to have something of your own, especially as you take care of little ones. Thanks again!

Thanks for sharing these! I love finding new blogs through round-up posts like this one and would love it if you kept posting them. And yeah. Deb’s chocolate cake looks insane.

Hey Joanne! Great! Thanks so much for the feedback. I’m glad you like it. I will definitely keep posting my favorites…whether it’s in a weekly, biweekly or monthly post I’m not yet sure. Love the phrase “round-up” after seeing you write it…may even change my title if that’s ok with you :)

I think it’s a great idea. There are just so many blogs out there that it’s a bit overwhelming at times and I think that it’s great to see links referred by bloggers whose opinions you value. Like everyone I love finding new blogs to read as seeing all the delicious posts provides fantastic inspiration….and a little bit of daily food porn never hurts ;)
