Just wanted to ease your mind to let you know you’re not crazy…that I did, in fact, change my header for my blog. I hope you like it. I’d love to know what you think!
Hello there! I hope you enjoyed your first week of 2011.
For this Saturday post, I thought I’d share some of my favorite food blog posts from the past week or so. I hope you get a chance to take a look at these featured posts too. You can also check out all sorts of fabulous recipes at dishfolio.com. (By the way, have you seen my new dishfolio badge yet? It’s on the right of my site just above my Popular Posts.)
But, first, I wanted to share another update about my cookbook. As you may know, I have been working on an online, download-able cookbook to share many of the recipes I’ve posted on my blog so far. Sometimes, it can be a pain to search through the archives or menu on a food blog, so I thought it’d be neat to make my recipes available in a cookbook format. Pretty cool, right?
I’m excited to announce the cookbook is just about ready. My plan is to provide the information on how to download it in my next newsletter which comes out next Monday. Eh hem…Next Monday!! So, if you haven’t signed up yet, be sure to do so soon to get your free copy. Yep. Free.
And, for those 225 of you who have already signed up for my newsletter, thank you again. You are all awesome!
Onto the Round-Up!
- I’ve recently been playing a lot with the idea of making some biscotti, which probably made this recipe for Chocolate Pistachio Biscotti from Lynn at I’ll Have What She’s Having jump off the page. Figuratively speaking, unfortunately. I love the idea of combining chocolate and pistachio in a biscotti…it sounds so darn delicious, right?
- Now, my new years toast this year was with sparkling apple cider, but — oh-my — how I would have liked Nam’s Cutie-Pom Cocktail from The Culinary Chronicles in my glass instead. This drink looks fabulous and has such a great combination of flavors. Can’t wait to try it!
- Before seeing the picture for Erica’s Favorite Cheese Ball from Cooking For Seven, I probably hadn’t ever given cheese balls the time of day. Nothing personal…just never really thought about them that much. However, after checking out her photo and recipe, it’s pretty much all I can think about. Beautiful photos, as always, Erica!
- For Christmas, my brother-in-law gave me some awesome cookie cutters. Full disclosure: I have never owned cookie cutters. Weird, I know. Needless, to say, I was very excited to finally have some of my own. While my first several hundred batches of cookies probably won’t come out looking as gorgeous as Pure and Yummy’s Gingerbread Snowflake Cookies, I can continue to dream. And make her recipe.
So, there you have it. Go forth, read, cook, eat and have a wonderful weekend!
