Hey there!

I’d like to share with you a trip we recently took to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin.

And, when I say “recently,” I really mean a few months ago. Like, back when I was still pregnant with Savannah (who is already two months old, by the way!).

In fact, this was one of the last activities we did as a family before Savannah came into the world.

If you’ve never heard of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, neither had I.

The Wildflower Center was actually founded by former first lady, Lady Bird Johnson, and actress, Helen Hayes, in 1982 after they recognized the need to focus on preserving our native plants and natural landscapes. Pretty neat, huh?

Being from California and new to native Texas plants and landscapes, it was an opportunity for me to learn more about what I was seeing around me.

Plus, we visited in the Spring so we were able to see all the beautiful Blue Bonnets and wildflowers blooming around us. Not so good for the allergies, but pretty on the eyes.

The Center also has several trails you can walk where you can learn more about different landscapes. Being super pregnant at the time, however, we chose not to walk the trails.

I hope you enjoy the photos – we had a great time.

Have a wonderful weekend!
